Best Horror of the Year is a long-running annual anthology series edited by Ellen Datlow, collecting the finest horror short fiction from each calendar year. The series began in 2009 and has published seventeen volumes through 2025. Ramsey Campbell has been a regular presence in these pages.
Datlow’s editorial taste runs toward atmospheric and psychologically unsettling fiction, which makes Campbell a natural fit. The series also includes a retrospective “best of the best” volume from 2018 that draws from the first ten years of the anthology.
