The Rainbow Fairies are the original seven fairies that launched the entire Rainbow Magic franchise in 2003. Ruby the Red Fairy, Amber the Orange Fairy, Sunny the Yellow Fairy, Fern the Green Fairy, Sky the Blue Fairy, Inky the Indigo Fairy, and Heather the Violet Fairy each represent a color of the rainbow.
These seven books established the formula of fairy characters paired with themes that would be repeated across dozens of subsequent sub-series. The Rainbow Fairies remain the most recognizable group in the franchise.
