Katie McGarry launched the Pushing the Limits series in 2012 with the title novel, which introduced readers to Echo Emerson and Noah Hutchins. Echo was a former popular girl hiding scars she cannot remember getting, while Noah was a ward of the state fighting to regain custody of his younger brothers. Their story set the tone for the rest of the series, balancing romance with honest looks at mental health and family dysfunction.
The series expanded with companion novels like Dare You To (2013), which followed Beth Risk and Ryan Stone, and Crash into You (2013), featuring street-racing and the secrets families keep. Take Me On (2014) and Breaking the Rules (2014) continued the pattern of pairing characters from different backgrounds. Crossing the Line (2013) and Chasing Impossible (2016) rounded out the core series. Some entries, including Complice la notte and Scommessa d’amore, are Italian-language editions of the English originals.
