The Poconos Pack series by Dana Marie Bell follows a wolf shifter pack living in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains. The series has a fairy tale theme running through several of its titles, with Little Red riffing on Red Riding Hood and Mr. Red Riding Hoode flipping the gender roles of the same story. Bell uses these fairy tale frameworks as a starting point for her romance plots, adding humor and paranormal twists to the familiar stories.
The first two books, Little Red and Steel Beauty, also appear in the Halle Pumas series because their characters have ties to both the wolf pack and the puma pride in nearby Halle. Finding Forgiveness, Twas a Coyote Christmas, Mr. Red Riding Hoode, and Sorry, Charlie continue the pack’s story with new couples. The series is lighter in tone than some of Bell’s other work, with the fairy tale elements giving the books a playful quality.
