The Pip & Flinx series spans fifteen books published between 1972 and 2018, making it one of the longer-running fiction series out there. It started with The Tar-Aiym Krang and Bloodhype in the early 1970s, then continued through the late ’70s with The End of the Matter and Orphan Star. After a gap, the series picked back up in 1983 with For Love of Mother-Not and kept going through the 2000s with entries like Flinx in Flux, Mid-Flinx, Reunion, and Flinx’s Folly.
The later books (Sliding Scales, Running from the Deity, Trouble Magnet, Patrimony) arrived on a nearly annual schedule between 2004 and 2007, leading to Flinx Transcendent in 2009. Strange Music appeared in 2018, adding one more entry almost a decade later. With a publication history stretching over 46 years, this is a series that rewards readers willing to commit to the long haul.
