Pellucidar is Edgar Rice Burroughs’s hollow Earth series, spanning seven novels from At the Earth’s Core (1914) to Savage Pellucidar (1941). The series follows David Innes, who burrows to the center of the Earth and discovers Pellucidar, a vast inner world lit by a miniature sun where prehistoric creatures still roam and primitive human tribes struggle against reptilian overlords.
The series crosses over with Tarzan in Tarzan at the Earth’s Core (1929), bringing Burroughs’s two most famous settings together. Later entries like Back to the Stone Age (1937) and Land of Terror (1944) introduce new characters alongside returning favorites.
