Paul Goldberg’s three standalone novels each take a different angle on Jewish identity and the legacy of Soviet life. The Yid (2016) is his most dramatic, imagining a plot against Stalin in the last days of the dictator’s life. The Chateau (2018) turns comedic, transplanting Russian-immigrant dynamics to a Florida condominium. The Dissident (2023) explores the world of Soviet dissidents.
All three books are informed by Goldberg’s journalism career and his personal experience as a Russian-born immigrant to the United States.
