The Pandava Quartet was the first series published under the Rick Riordan Presents imprint, giving it a high-profile launch in 2018. Roshani Chokshi’s Aru Shah and the End of Time introduces a twelve-year-old girl who accidentally releases a demon and discovers she is one of the Pandava brothers reborn. The concept borrows the structure of Riordan’s own mythology series while rooting itself in the stories of the Mahabharata.
The four main novels follow Aru through increasingly complex adventures that draw on Hindu mythology, from the Song of Death to the Tree of Wishes to the City of Gold. Aru Shah and the Nectar of Immortality (2022) concludes the series. The books have been translated into Ukrainian, Spanish, and other languages, and the series has also been adapted into graphic novel format. Chokshi writes with humor and energy that keeps the mythology accessible to young readers who may be encountering these stories for the first time.
