The Outlaws of Time series by N.D. Wilson follows Sam Miracle, a foster kid living in Arizona with two badly damaged arms. Sam soon discovers that he is far more than an ordinary boy. He can walk through time, and powerful forces are lined up both for and against him. A villain known as the Vulture wants Sam dead to prevent the fulfillment of a prophecy, while a girl named Glory and a pair of rattlesnakes grafted onto Sam’s arms are determined to keep him alive.
The trilogy blends Old West imagery with time-travel mechanics in a way that feels distinctly different from Wilson’s other series. The Song of Glory and Ghost shifts focus as Glory takes center stage, and The Last of the Lost Boys brings the story full circle by introducing Sam and Glory’s son, Alex, into the conflict. Wilson keeps the pace quick across all three books and fills them with the kind of wild, imaginative set pieces that have become a signature of his work.
