Out of the Box continues the story of Sienna Nealon from the Girl in the Box series, picking up two years after the events of the tenth book. Sienna has relocated to London, but trouble follows her as new enemies and old complications emerge.

The twenty-one Out of the Box novels run parallel to the later Girl in the Box books, and the two sub-series share characters and plotlines. Robert J. Crane has been consolidating both under the Girl in the Box name, so readers may encounter them listed together or separately depending on the edition.
