The Orion Colony series follows a group of colonists as they settle on a new planet and discover it is far more dangerous than expected. Starting with Orion Colony in 2018, the four books track their struggles to survive, explore the unknown world, and protect their fledgling settlement.
Yanez keeps the focus on survival and discovery rather than military combat, which gives this series a different flavor from much of his other work. The alien planet setting allows for genuine surprises, and the colonists face threats that can’t always be solved with firepower.
