The Origin series is a Lux spinoff set four years after the alien invasion that ended Opposition. The Darkest Star (2018) follows Evie, a seemingly ordinary human, and Luc, an Origin who has more power than any Luxen. Their meeting sets off a chain of revelations about Evie’s past and the true scope of the government’s experimentation program.
The Burning Shadow (2019) and The Brightest Night (2020) continue the story. The series connects to the original Lux books through shared characters and world-building while focusing on a new romance and a new set of dangers.
