The Nora Watts series begins with The Lost Ones (also published as Eyes Like Mine in the UK), in which Nora’s biological daughter goes missing and she is pulled into a search that takes her from Vancouver to a remote island off the coast of British Columbia. Nora is a complicated protagonist. She is stubborn, secretive, and difficult to know, but her instincts as an investigator make her hard to stop once she picks up a trail.
In The Grip Of It is a short story that bridges the gap between the first and second novels. It All Falls Down takes Nora to the Middle East, where she investigates a connection between her father’s death and a larger conspiracy. No Going Back brings the trilogy to a close as Nora faces a triad enforcer who has placed a target on her daughter. The series is dark and tense, rooted in Vancouver’s streets and driven by a protagonist whose flaws make her feel real.
