The Nick Lassiter-Skyler International Espionage series follows two very different characters whose paths gradually converge. Nick Lassiter starts as an unemployed geologist and aspiring author who travels to New York to confront a bestselling writer who plagiarized his unpublished novel. He finds himself caught up in a CIA operation involving Russian mobsters and his own estranged father. Meanwhile, the Italian femme fatale known as Skyler operates in a darker world of political assassination and international conspiracy.
The series builds from personal stakes to global ones. The Coalition (2016) puts Skyler at the center of a vast right-wing conspiracy to seize control of the U.S. government, while an FBI agent and a reporter race to uncover the truth. In The Fourth Pularchek (2017), Lassiter and Skyler finally share the stage in an international case that connects Lassiter to his newly discovered biological father, Polish billionaire Stanislaw Pularchek, and unearths secrets buried since World War II.
