The New Day Diva series is where E.N. Joy’s Diva universe begins. Published between 2010 and 2011, the five books follow women at a church called New Day as they deal with marriage, love, and faith. She Who Finds A Husband starts the series, and the subsequent books, including Been There Prayed That and Trying to Stay Saved, continue exploring the lives of these women as they face difficult choices.
The series set the template for Joy’s later Diva books: each story focuses on a different woman (or set of women) in the congregation, with personal drama driving the plot and faith providing the framework for growth. The books are quick reads with a conversational style that draws readers into the characters’ lives.
