The Mountain Breeze series takes Ed Robinson’s signature character out of his comfort zone. Breeze, who has spent years living on boats along the Florida coast, heads inland to the mountains of western North Carolina. Banner Elk Breeze (2018) starts the series in the small mountain town of Banner Elk, and the following four books continue through locations in the Appalachian region.
The premise works as a fish-out-of-water setup: a lifelong boater trading salt air and tidal charts for mountain trails and small-town Appalachian culture. The books keep the same casual, adventure-driven style as the Trawler Trash and Bluewater Breeze series, but the mountain setting opens up different kinds of trouble for Breeze to stumble into, from land disputes to backcountry mishaps.
