The Love and Danger sub-series takes the Morgan’s Mercenaries world in a more personal direction, putting Morgan Trayhern’s own family at the center of the conflict. Rather than following operatives on external missions, these six books deal with threats that strike close to home, beginning with Morgan’s Wife in 1995. The kidnapping storyline that runs through the first four books gives the sub-series a tighter narrative arc than the broader series.
Morgan’s Wife, Morgan’s Son, and Morgan’s Rescue form a consecutive rescue thriller within the romance framework, and Morgan’s Marriage concludes that arc before the series picks up again years later with Morgan’s Legacy and Morgan’s Honor in 2004. Those later additions fill in more of the Trayhern family history and tie up loose ends for longtime readers.
This sub-series works best read in order, especially the first four books, which follow a continuous storyline. Fans of the main Morgan’s Mercenaries series who want a closer look at Morgan himself and his personal stakes will find this sub-series the most focused on his character.
