The Mither Mages series is a fantasy trilogy by Orson Scott Card, beginning with The Lost Gate (2011). The books follow Danny North, a boy born into a family of mages who have been weakened since the ancient gates between Earth and the magical world of Westil were closed. Danny discovers he is a Gatemage, a type of mage thought to be extinct.
The series draws on Norse mythology, reimagining the Norse gods as powerful mages. It also includes the prequel novella Stonefather (2008), which is set in the same world.
