The Mitch Rapp series is one of the longest-running political thriller franchises in American fiction. Created by Vince Flynn with Transfer of Power (1999), the series follows Rapp through increasingly high-stakes counter-terrorism operations. The early books established Rapp as a blunt, effective operative who operates outside normal channels when necessary.
Flynn wrote thirteen novels in the series before his death in 2013. Kyle Mills continued the franchise with The Survivor (2015) and subsequent entries, keeping the series on the bestseller lists. Don Bentley has also contributed. The 24 books span from 1999 to 2025. American Assassin was adapted into a film in 2017.
