The Miss Seeton series began in 1968 with Picture Miss Seeton and has grown to include 27 books spanning over five decades. Miss Seeton is one of the great accidental detectives in cozy mystery fiction: a prim, retired art teacher whose sketches somehow capture details that crack cases, even though she has no idea she is doing it.
Heron Carvic wrote the original five books, establishing the character and her Kent village setting. After his death, the series was continued by other authors who maintained Miss Seeton’s essential charm – her politeness, her artistic eye, and her complete obliviousness to the danger she regularly walks into. The series has maintained a dedicated readership for its gentle humor and quintessentially English atmosphere.
