Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children is Ransom Riggs’s flagship series, beginning with the 2011 novel that introduced readers to Jacob Portman and his discovery of Miss Peregrine’s loop, a hidden pocket of time where children with peculiar abilities live under the protection of their bird-like headmistress.
The original trilogy follows Jacob from his first encounter with the peculiar world through increasingly dangerous adventures in Hollow City (2014) and Library of Souls (2015). A second trilogy picks up with A Map of Days (2018), The Conference of the Birds (2020), and The Desolations of Devil’s Acre (2021), expanding the world with new peculiar communities and threats. Companion works like Tales of the Peculiar and Miss Peregrine’s Museum of Wonders add depth to the mythology.
