Charlaine Harris Schulz’s Midnight, Texas trilogy is set in a remote Texas crossroads town where the residents include a vampire, a witch, a weretiger, and other supernatural beings who have settled there to avoid attention. Midnight Crossroad (2014) introduces the town through the eyes of psychic Manfred Bernardo, and Day Shift (2015) and Night Shift (2016) continue the story as threats to the town’s fragile peace escalate.
The series was adapted into a television show on NBC. Like the Sookie Stackhouse books, the Midnight, Texas novels blend mystery plotting with a supernatural community, but the ensemble cast and Texas setting give them their own identity.
