Marry the Scot was the series that established Jolie Vines as a Scottish Highland romance author. All seven books landed in 2019 with the exception of Come the Fall, which followed in 2021, and they introduced readers to the interconnected world of Scottish men with strong personalities and even stronger feelings about the women who come into their lives. The Rival kicks things off, and the series sustains its energy across seven books.
The tone here is lighter than Vines’s later work. These are still passionate, heated romances, but they don’t carry the darker edges of Wild Mountain Scots or Dark Island Scots. That balance made the series popular with readers who like their Highland romance warm rather than brooding. Heroes compete, fight for what they want, and eventually figure out that what they want is standing right in front of them.
Storm the Castle, Love Most Say Least, Hero, Oh Baby, and Picture This all add different flavours to the series while keeping the Scottish atmosphere consistent. Come the Fall, arriving two years after the initial run, fits naturally into the world. For anyone who hasn’t read Jolie Vines before, starting here is a solid choice.
