Marriage of Inconvenience is Molly Fader’s 16-book category romance series. Published between 1996 and 2011, the books follow the classic premise of couples who marry for convenience and find real love along the way.
The early books like Husband in a Hurry (1996), Shotgun Baby (1997), and Temporary Wife (1999) were published under the Harlequin Superromance line. Several titles center on children as the reason for the arrangement: For The Baby’s Sake (1999), Whose Baby? (2000), and The Baby Bargain (2000) all build their plots around parenthood. Later entries like A Marriage Between Friends (2008) and His Wife for One Night (2011) shifted toward more complex relationship dynamics between adults who already know each other.
Fader later moved away from category romance and began writing women’s fiction under her own name. But this long-running series remains her most prolific output, with 16 books across 15 years. The books are short, self-contained reads that don’t need to be read in order.
