The Maggie’s Grove series by Dana Marie Bell is set in a small town that is home to dryads, vampires, wolves, and other supernatural residents. The town is named after a powerful dryad queen, and each book follows a different couple navigating both romance and threats to the community. Blood of the Maple introduces the setting and the town’s dryad protectors, while Throne of Oak expands on the power structures within the supernatural community.
The series ran from 2011 to 2019, with five books total. Of Shadows and Ash and Song of Midnight Embers continue the romantic pairings while building out the town’s mythology. Hour of the Wolf, published after a four-year gap, wraps up storylines that had been building across the earlier books. The Maggie’s Grove books have a slightly different feel from Bell’s Halle series, leaning more toward fairy-tale-inspired fantasy with the dryad and nature magic elements.
