The Madoc Rhys series began in 1980 with A Pint of Murder, in which Janet Wadman discovers that her friend Agatha’s death was no accident — someone had tampered with the canned green beans. Inspector Madoc Rhys enters the picture, and the two become partners in more ways than one as the series progresses.
Charlotte MacLeod published these books under the Alisa Craig name, keeping the Canadian voice distinct from her New England-based Peter Shandy and Sarah Kelling series. The five novels were published over twelve years, each rooted in the small-town rhythms of Maritime Canada. The Wrong Rite, published in 1992, closes out the series.
