Luke Jennings has had a varied career as a journalist, dance critic, and novelist. He has written for The Observer and The New Yorker, and is most widely known for creating the Killing Eve novels featuring the assassin Villanelle. His standalone fiction, however, shows a different range.
Breach Candy (1994) was his first novel, followed quickly by Atlantic (1995) and Beauty Story (1998). After a long gap, during which he wrote the Killing Eve series and the memoir Blood Knots, he returned to standalone fiction with Panic in 2023. Each book stands on its own, and they represent the work of a writer whose primary career has been in journalism and arts criticism rather than full-time fiction writing.
