The Lost Books series is a young adult spin-off of Ted Dekker’s Circle series, set in the same fantasy world known as the Other Earth. The story follows four young Forest Guard recruits who are sent on a dangerous mission to find seven lost Books of History before the evil Horde can use them. Beginning with Chosen, the series was written for a younger audience but keeps the same high-stakes tone as Dekker’s adult fiction.
Each book in the six-part series focuses on different aspects of the quest, with the young heroes facing new challenges in each installment. Infidel, Renegade, and Chaos continue the main story arc, while the final two books, Lunatic and Elyon (co-written with Kaci Hill), bring the quest to its conclusion.
The Lost Books fill in gaps in the Circle series timeline and expand the mythology of the Other Earth. They work as a good entry point for younger readers interested in Dekker’s writing, and for adult fans they provide additional depth to the world introduced in Black, Red, and White.
