The Lords of the Underworld is Gena Showalter’s flagship series and one of the longest-running paranormal romance series in the genre. The premise: when Pandora’s box was opened, the demons inside were captured and forced into the bodies of immortal warriors as punishment. Each Lord is cursed with a specific demon like Violence, Pain, or Death, and must learn to control it.
The series began with The Darkest Night in 2008 and has grown to over 20 entries including full novels, novellas, and companion pieces. Each book focuses on a different Lord finding love despite his curse. The series combines intense romance with action, mythology, and an ongoing war against forces that want to destroy the Lords.
