The Lewis Tetralogy expands Peter May’s original Lewis Trilogy with the addition of The Black Loch in 2024. The first three books remain the same: The Blackhouse (2009), The Lewis Man (2011), and The Chessmen (2012), all set on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides.
The Black Loch arrived 12 years after The Chessmen, returning readers to the Scottish island setting. The expansion from trilogy to tetralogy reflects the lasting popularity of these crime novels and their island setting.
