Leslie Connor’s standalone novels span nearly two decades and share a focus on young characters who have to deal with problems that feel bigger than they are. From Dead on Town Line, an early work about a murdered girl watching events unfold after her death, to Anybody Here Seen Frenchie?, each book takes on a different situation but keeps the same honest voice.
Several of these books have earned major awards and nominations. The Truth as Told by Mason Buttle was a National Book Award finalist, and All Rise for the Honorable Perry T. Cook received the Schneider Family Book Award. Waiting for Normal, about a girl whose mother keeps leaving her behind, was also widely praised for the way it treats difficult family dynamics without melodrama.
