The League: Nemesis Rising is set in a far-future universe controlled by The League, a ruthless organization of assassins that maintains order through fear and violence. The series follows Nykyrian Quiakides, a half-human League assassin who turns against his masters and helps build the Sentella, a rebel alliance fighting to free the galaxy from League control. Each book focuses on a different character’s love story while advancing the larger conflict between the Sentella and the League.
Kenyon originally published Born of Night in 1996, then heavily revised and expanded the series starting in 2009 when she reissued the early books with significant new material. The seventeen books span from 1994 to 2020 and follow the war between the League and the Sentella through the eyes of soldiers, assassins, and the people caught between them.
