The Lacey Flint series follows a young detective whose intelligence and instincts make her invaluable to the Metropolitan Police, but whose personal demons put her at constant risk. Beginning with Now You See Me, which draws on the Jack the Ripper murders, each book pairs Lacey with a new case while developing her character across the series.
Bolton uses London as a backdrop for crimes that range from campus suicides in Dead Scared to tidal murders along the Thames in A Dark and Twisted Tide. The series includes two shorter works — the novella If Snow Hadn’t Fallen and the story Here Be Dragons — that fill in gaps between the main novels.
