Kristiana Gregory’s standalone novels cover a range of historical settings and are aimed at young and middle-grade readers. Earthquake at Dawn (1992) is set during the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, Jenny of the Tetons (1989) takes place in the Wyoming wilderness, and The Stowaway (1995) follows a boy who hides aboard Captain Cook’s ship. Later titles include Cleopatra and the mystery novel Stalked.
These standalones show Gregory’s range within historical fiction. While her Dear America and Royal Diaries entries follow a specific diary format, the standalone novels allow her to experiment with different narrative structures and historical periods.
