Kindle Alexander’s standalone novels include her debut Up in Arms (2012) and Texas Pride (2013). Both are contemporary M/M romances that can be read without knowledge of her series work.
Up in Arms launched Alexander’s publishing career, and Texas Pride followed a year later. Both novels are set in the contemporary United States and deal with men navigating their feelings in situations where being open about their relationships is complicated. Texas Pride, as the title suggests, has a Southern setting and touches on the tension between small-town expectations and personal identity.
These two books predate most of Alexander’s longer series and show her voice in its earliest form. Readers who enjoy them have plenty of options in her catalog, including the Always Faithful and Haven Hart series.
