Kevin Wignall’s standalone novels range from early 2000s crime fiction to recent espionage thrillers. People Die (2001) and Among the Dead (2002) established his reputation for taut, morally gray storytelling. For the Dogs (2004), later reissued as The Hunter’s Prayer, was adapted into a film in 2017.
His more recent work includes A Death in Sweden (2016), To Die in Vienna (2018), and The Names of the Dead (2020). Wignall has also written When We Were Lost (2019), a YA survival story. Each novel stands alone, though readers who enjoy one will likely find the same spare prose and tension in the others.
