Kelly Robson’s short fiction covers a lot of ground. “Waters of Versailles” (2015), her breakout story, imagines the plumbing system at Versailles powered by a water sprite. “A Human Stain” (2017) is a darker piece about a governess in a remote house with a secret.
These stories are all standalone works and can be read in any order. Robson’s shorter fiction tends to mix historical settings with speculative elements, and she is comfortable writing in both science fiction and horror modes.
