Kazuo Ishiguro’s individually published short fiction spans several decades. A Family Supper (1983) was one of his earliest published works, a quietly unsettling story set during a family dinner in Japan that carries undercurrents of grief and possible danger.
A Village After Dark (2001) and Come Rain or Come Shine (2019) represent different periods of his career. Come Rain or Come Shine was also included in the Nocturnes collection and follows an awkward house guest visiting old friends whose marriage is falling apart.
