Joseph F. Girzone’s standalone novels span three decades and show different sides of his writing. Kara the Lonely Falcon (1979) was his debut, an allegorical nature story published years before the Joshua series made him famous. The Messenger (2002) and The Homeless Bishop (2011) came later and reflect his ongoing interest in faith-driven characters who challenge the expectations of the world around them.
These books sit alongside his much larger Joshua series and his many non-fiction works on spirituality. While they did not reach the same commercial success as the Joshua novels, they offer readers a broader view of Girzone’s storytelling range and the religious themes that ran through all of his writing.
