The Jonmarc Vahanian Adventure series traces the life of Jonmarc Vahanian before he appears in The Summoner, the first Chronicles of the Necromancer novel. Jonmarc became one of the most popular characters in that series, a battle-hardened fighter with a tragic past, and these 24 short stories fill in the details of how he got that way. The stories follow him through a string of dangerous situations, from cursed places and monster encounters to mercenary work and run-ins with the law.
The stories were published individually between 2013 and 2018, with a collected print edition called The Shadowed Path (2016) and a later collection called The Dark Road (2018) gathering them together. Each story stands on its own as a self-contained adventure, but read in sequence they form a continuous account of Jonmarc’s journey from a young man who lost everything to the scarred, cynical fighter readers meet in the novels.
