These seven anthologies span nearly fifty years, from Tales of Unease in 1966 to Already Among Us in 2012. They include volumes that John Christopher edited himself, multi-author anthologies he contributed to, and a posthumous collection of his uncollected short fiction.
Tales of Unease (1966) and its sequel More Tales of Unease (1969) are horror and suspense anthologies that Christopher edited. The Tenth Pan Book of Horror Stories (1969) is one of the long-running Pan horror series to which he contributed. Science Fiction Stories (1988) and Christmas on Ganymede and Other Stories (1990) collect genre fiction aimed at younger readers. The Young Oxford Book of Nasty Endings (1998) is a children’s anthology of dark and surprising stories. Already Among Us (2012), published in the year of Christopher’s death, brought together previously uncollected short fiction from across his career, giving readers a final look at his range as a short story writer.
