Joe R. Lansdale brought his signature dark tone to the DC Comics universe with Batman stories published in the early 1990s. Batman: Captured by the Engines (1991) and Terror on the High Skies (1992) showcase his ability to adapt his East Texas gothic sensibility to Gotham City.
This grouping also includes his work on other DC-related properties. Lansdale’s Batman work is a small but notable part of his extensive comic book output, which spans publishers from DC to Dark Horse to IDW.
