L. Ron Hubbard Presents: Writers of the Future is an annual anthology series that collects the winning entries from the Writers of the Future contest. The contest, founded in 1983 by L. Ron Hubbard, is widely recognized as the largest competition for unpublished science fiction and fantasy writers. Each volume features short stories and novelettes selected by a panel of established authors, and the series has introduced hundreds of new writers to readers over its four-decade run.

The first volume was published in 1985, and the series has continued without interruption since then, reaching 41 volumes as of 2025. Past winners include names who went on to long careers in the genre, such as Patrick Rothfuss, Nnedi Okofor, and Dave Wolverton. The contest also includes an Illustrators of the Future component, and the winning artwork appears alongside the stories in each volume.

Jody Lynn Nye has been involved with the contest in a judging capacity since 2016 and took on the role of Coordinating Judge in 2022. In that position, she helps oversee the selection process and works directly with contest entrants. Her involvement places her name alongside a long list of notable judges who have shaped the series over the years, including Tim Powers, Kevin J. Anderson, and the late Robert Silverberg.
