Rovin’s standalone novels reflect the range of his career. Some are movie novelizations written under tight deadlines, while others are original horror and science fiction stories. Vespers (1998) deals with an invasion of mutant bats in New York, while Fatalis (2000) follows a prehistoric predator loose in California.
The standalone titles also include his earlier work in the 1980s and 1990s, when Rovin was writing across multiple genres. These books show his ability to work fast and tell a clean, commercial story in whatever genre the project required.
