The Jaywalker series consists of five legal thrillers published between 2008 and 2011. Each book presents defense attorney Jaywalker with a new case that tests both his legal skills and his willingness to operate in gray areas. The Tenth Case launched the series with a murder trial, and subsequent books tackled wrongful convictions, excessive force, and other issues within the justice system.
Teller writes lean, fast-paced courtroom fiction with a protagonist who is deeply flawed but impossible not to root for. Jaywalker’s cases are the engine of each story, but his personal struggles and his complicated relationship with the legal system give the books weight beyond the plot mechanics.
