The Jane Jameson series launched Molly Harper’s career with Nice Girls Don’t Have Fangs in 2009. The books follow Jane Jameson, a librarian in the fictional small town of Half-Moon Hollow, Kentucky, who gets fired from her job and then accidentally turned into a vampire on the same night. What follows is a comedy of errors as Jane tries to figure out vampire society, romance, and her own family’s reaction to her new condition.
The series runs five books, wrapping up with Nice Girls Don’t Bite Their Neighbors (2012). Each title plays on the “Nice Girls Don’t…” formula, and the humor stays consistent throughout. The Jane Jameson books established the Half-Moon Hollow setting that Harper would return to in a longer spin-off series, and they remain her most recognizable work.
