Jane A. Adams has published three standalone novels alongside her many series. These books let her explore different characters and situations outside the constraints of her recurring detective series. The Other Woman (also published as Bird) came out in 1997, The Woman in the Painting (also known as Kiss Goodbye) in 2006, and Then She Was Dead (also titled Dangerous to Know) in 2021.
Several of these standalones were published under alternate titles for different markets. Like her series work, the standalone novels focus on crime and suspense, but they give Adams the freedom to try new things without needing to fit into an established series framework.
