James D. Hornfischer’s non-fiction output spans six books published between 2003 and 2022. His first title, The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors, came out in 2003 and was followed by Ship of Ghosts in 2006. In 2011 he published two books: Neptune’s Inferno: The U.S. Navy at Guadalcanal and Service: A Navy SEAL at War. The Fleet at Flood Tide arrived in 2016, and Who Can Hold the Sea, his most recent, was published in 2022.
Several of these titles deal with naval history and military subjects, as the book titles suggest. The list above follows publication order, though each non-fiction work stands on its own and can be picked up independently.
