The Jack Lennon series consists of four novels published between 2009 and 2014, all written by Stuart Neville under his pen name. The series begins with The Ghosts of Belfast (published in the UK as The Twelve in 2009), in which a former IRA man is haunted by the ghosts of his victims and is drawn into a violent web of political and criminal conspiracy. The subsequent books — Collusion (2010), Stolen Souls (2011), and The Final Silence (2014) — develop Lennon further as a flawed, driven detective navigating a city still scarred by its recent history.
The books are best read in publication order. Characters and plot threads carry over between entries, and the broader world Neville builds becomes richer as the series progresses. The setting — a Belfast caught between its violent past and an uncertain peace — is as much a presence in the books as the characters themselves.
