Jack Finney’s collections bring together his shorter work, much of which originally appeared in magazines like The Saturday Evening Post and Collier’s. The Third Level (1940) was his first, and it set the tone for much of what followed: ordinary people bumping into something strange and wonderful, often involving slips in time or shifts in reality.
His later collection About Time (1986) pulled together his best time-themed fiction and became a favorite among readers who discovered Finney through Time and Again. These collections show a writer with a light touch and a genuine affection for the past. For the full list of Jack Finney’s work, check his author page.
